Matty V .s Kellen Pagel is questionable for Saturday's game against Villanova. UMass Football alums Marcel Shipp, Steve Baylark and Khari Samuel are expected to attend the game.

Marcel Shipp will be inducted into the UMass Hall-of-Fame.

The UMass Daily Collegian says the Minutemen are doing it on both sides of the ball.

The stipend rule is good for the players, but in my  view, it will further divide college sports into the "haves" and "have nots". BCS schools will have no problems funding the stipend for non-revenue sports, but most of the rest of the college sports universe may not. Most fans tend to fixate on football, basketball and hockey. UMass traditionally had success in women's softball and field hockey. Will we adopt the stipend rule or will we take a recruiting hit in those sports from schools with the ability to offer a recruit the stipend?

I watched the Temple-Ohio University football game last night. It was a pretty good game. Both teams had plenty of good athletes.
