Matty V. reports Mark Whipple stated he hasn't been in contact with anyone at UMass about the Minutemen head coaching position.

Paul Johnson, HC of the Georgia Tech yellow jackets, still remembers his 1998 loss to UMass.

CAA's Game Day Central for today's playoff games.

EKU is confident that they can stop the OVC's eleven game playoff losing streak. James Madison looked to me like a pretty solid team now that they have their QB back. The Dukes could be a dark horse in the Championship run.

UNH is preparing for their seventh opening road trip in eight playoffs.

Akron Zips fans have started a "We want Jim Tressel for HC" facebook page.

I watched the Minutemen BB team pressure the Utes last night.

Naturally the UMass defense had nothing to do with those fumbles...just the weather. UMass, of course, wasn't playing in that same weather.

Hi Frank, I hope that you and Mrs. Blog had a nice Thanksgiving.

I'm glad the CAA got off to a good start in the playoffs today with two wins.

Any idea as to what season tickets will sell for this year? How long do you think the search will last for a new HC? Whipple was announced 12/19 if my memory is correct (maybe 12/17). Do you think the cost of tickets will be somehow linked to who(m) ever they select?

Not enjoying the long off-season already! Go UNseen!

I haven't heard any information about the cost of season tickets next year. Certainly they will be higher than at McGuirk. However, that will be partially offset by the free parking.

Mrs Blog and I paid $15 for one game at Delaware and most FBS teams have stiff fees (or mandatory contributions to their athletic funds) for parking/tailgating close to the stadium. Tailgating for free and then walking a couple of hundred yards to the stadium would be the envy of most FBS team fans.

You think they'll use the excuse of free parking to raise the ticket prices??

Since parking is also free at UMass that doesn't make much sense.

If you call what existed around McGuirk "parking", then yes there's no difference. Had to call a tow truck to pull my van out of the mud behind the stadium once. The parking "lot" there was nothing more than a swamp. I'll HAPPILY pay more per ticket to park in a real parking lot at Gillette.

So people neither know how many restrooms are at McGuirk nor how many parking spots???
