Tuesday before UNH--Oct 19th, 2010

Seacoastonline says defense could rule the day with UNH Vs. UMass.

TNH Sports says Saturday will be the start of a new tradition.

MassLive says memories are great, but UMass needs a win.

Matty Vautour says CAA coaches are already lobbying for an extra playoff bid.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

UMass dropped to #12 in The Sports Network Poll. More on TSN's poll here.

UMass has the same slot in the NCAA Coaches Poll.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This sounds hopeful. Key quote: "Saturday's game at Gillette Stadium is sure to be a new record for a crowd to watch a UMass football game against an FCS team. "

It would be nice to break 30,000 for the Colonial Classic. I know some people who will be buying ticket as walk-ups, so the gate may be larger than expected.

The CAA's weekly press release is here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forget the spread. College football's hottest offense is in Eugene Oregon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this was UMass, he'd be assigned a room in Southwest.

from up in the Top Roww sec 16.

OK have gotten over the results of the Richmond game and we would strongly urge everyone who goes to Gillette to get behind our team.

Nothing helps a team more than good supportive fans.

Our team plays in the best conference in 1aa and every week we face good to very good teams. To think otherwise is a mistake.

Time for us to get behind our guys and support them as best we can. We can make a difference against UNH w/ our support of this team.

Looking forward to seeing a good UMass showing and getting back on course and to where we should be - back in the playoffs ! ! !

Lets Go UMass ! ! ! !

Why do we not know how many tickets UMASS has sold?Someone must have a good estimation.

to the villanova isnt good comment. stop drinking the juice man, nova won the natl title last year and umass has beaten NOBODY this year. Nova would beat Umass by 2 scores this year, they are a solid team. the rankings are fine. If we would have beaten richmond I would say different but the rankings are fine. people need to realize michigan didnt care against umass that game means nothing. long season ahead of us, huge game on sat vs UNH.

I just worry looking at the rankings that we will be crying the blues come playoff time. we have UNH, JMU, Maine and Delaware in out next 4 games. I think if we dont go 3-1 the playoffs are over. 7-4 its possible, 8-3 no question were in. delaware, nova, w and m and jmu will be in the playoffs. cant see any of those teams missing.

I agree Top Roww sec 16...
support the team. I tried several times to get a spark going in Section 8 and 9 - just didn't happen without George Parks. There was clearly an air of gloom. Not the right attitude.
Support the team does not mean posting how good Villanova is or hard the next 4 games MIGHT be. It's that attitude that the UMASS football team doesn't need right now and true fans or supporters wouldn't be making those statements regardless. Think positive- GO,GO U, GO UMASS!
