from up in the Top Roww Sec 16
Good to see our team get back on course. We still has room to improve when playing CAA teams.
When looking over all that has been said we would offer that the QB position gets way way too much credit when the team does well and gets way way too much blame when the team struggles.
Our QB is doing at least a good job and most of the time a very good job. To those who want to see someone else in there at this position they might want to think this all over some. He seems to be handling the ball well. Yes he has taken some sacks that might've been avoided but every QB worth a damn does the same things at least here and there. Upo in the Top Roww we just wish he would run when the opportunity offers itself.
As for the rest of the game we seemed to do a good job running and passing the ball. Overall our passing game seemed to go pretty well. For maybe the first time this year the Special Teams did a good job and we hope that this part of our game continues.
As for Defense - except for a few pass plays and in the first half stopping some power running plays we thought the whole group did a very good job. The second half the whole defense seemed to really step up.
Anyone able to offer why DT Byrne is not playing much now? He seemed to be on the edge of breaking out earlier this yr and has either not been playing or is playing only a few snaps now. Good to see the RB eating DL Thompson back to normal.
Up in the Top Roww we think this weeks game will be another tough one for our team. Maine pretty much always plays well and 2 yrs ago when playing here they really took it to us w/ a tough run game and stellar defense.
We cannot take this team for granted.
For now we will go w/
UMass 20 Maine 13
anyone know if Vlad is still on the jets?
Was Griffin injured?
Worth noting, since everyone thinks ST's does nothing..
"UMass did not allow any punt return yards on the day".
Here is the short version....the Team pulled together hard. Penalties were way down from previous games. Coming from behind and overcome a deficit is proof this team can play hard and win. We know these guys can play, they just need to keep telling themselves. GO UMASS!
2 years ago Maine came to Amherst in a game Umass needed to win to make playoffs-The first half of that game was some of the poorest Umass football (this yrs Richmond game right up there) I have personally witnessed. Maine on offense ran the clock down to 2-3 seconds before snapping the ball on every posession/therefore keeping Umass off the field. That game marked the end of the Don Brown era. Big game this weekend-see you there!
