Dear Blog readers:

I'm changing my ISP later today. My e-mail address will also be changing shortly.

If the blog should go dark for a while, you'll know what's up.

I'll be back tomorrow----hopefully----with some recruiting news.

TCu is expected to announce today that they will be join the Big East Conference. That makes as much sense as UMass join the Big 12. When will the NCAA step in and do a complete overhaul?

With the Big East inviting TCU to join in all sports it should be obvious to everyone that we must make the move incrementally. We must join the MAC in football only - like Temple - to save our program. If you havent done so there is a great thread in our other UM messageboard about joining the MAC you should read.

The Pats stadium is available as are potential high revenue games against Syracuse - BE - Pitt - BE - maybe CONN and maybe Rutgers - BE. Michigan would pay us $1Million as a FBS program - twice what we earned as a FCS program. Read the thread about joining the MAC on our other UM messageboard.

Whoever wrote that Whipple was not a good coach is nuts. I think it was a coach on the staff that would write that personally. His track record speaks for itself.

The much rumored big news has broken. WikiLeak has revealed that the UMass football program will be cancelled, effective immediately. Instead the school will formally enter into agreement with the IQA, and compete in collegiate Muggle Quidditch. The university has ok'd the construction of hoops in McGuirk stadium and the field will be officially named "Potter Field". The retention of athletic cups will be all that remains of football as players must keep a broom stick between their legs. It will also be the first inter- gender sport at UMass and thus satisfy Title IX concerns. At the end of each season, the champion will be given the solid gold "Snitch". Football players can retain their scholarships if they agree to participate in the new sport. The inaugural game will be against national power Hampsire College and there are rumors that JK Rowling will be in attendance.

get your head examined if you think whipple isnt a great coach. he was 49-26 at umass with three conference titles and a national championship. one losing season of 3-8 was his only bad year. morris is .500 after two seasons at umass.
