Wednesday--December 14, 2011

The Daily Record has a three page story on Charlie Molnar's appointment as the Minutemen's new HC. It's a good read.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jeff Thomas says Molnar has his hands full contacting recruits.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UMass TE Emil Igwenagu was named co-UMass Fall Scholar Athlete along with Megan Collins of Women's soccer.

NFL Draft Scout has Igwenagu ranked #18 in the 2012 pool of FB/TE/H-backs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vladimir Ducasse has been playing TE in the Jets two-TE packages and doing well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark Whipple has been mentioned as a possible choice at Arizona State. Whipple considers Arizona his home, so I think he'd jump at the chance to become HC.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No UMass players listed in Saturday's Senior Scout Bowl.

Good article on Molnar. I get the feeling he will be a good fit for the program.
Maybe he can get Bill Cosby to show up once in awhile for a game if he's such a fan....that may get attendance up.......time will tell.

I really question the intelligence of Molnar, never mind writers who continually do so, which talk of UMass suddenly becoming D1 in football. Last I checked they've been D1 for a long time. In fact the whole basis of calling them now D1, as opposed to I-AA, which of course is outdated, is wrong. FCS/I-AA is D1 football. Look on their trophy and the tournament, it is Division 1 Football.
