Game Day New Hampshire

Well, Mrs Blog and I are in southern Maine and we will be leaving for the game in an hour or so. The local weather does not seem promising. They're predicting fairly steady rain in the afternoon.

We drove up yesterday afternoon. Had a great meal at Mike's clam shack.

Jeff Thomas says that UMass is playing to keep its slim playoff hopes alive.

The Boston Globe says UNH is ready for UMass .

The Naples Daily News has an article about UMass LB George Byrd.

The Portsmouth Herald News has an article about UNH captains Boyle and Parent .

Matty Vautour says UMass is not ready to quit on a playoff bid just yet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Sports Network has its week 12 FCS preview article up.

I'll be back tonght, if my WI-FI conection keeps working, with a game report.

Go UMass!

some of the worst football i have seen played at umass ever

Very disappointing. I believe Coach Brown and his staff need to take a hard look at how they are preparing the football team. All year with the exception of Bryant and Rhode Island teams have jumped out on us. Quite frankly they have been out coached. Several of the teams just did not have the horses to hold on for the win.

This defense has zero heart!

What is going on with Liam. He has just imploded the last two games.

The only thing more embarassing than defensive players quiting on plays, giving up long TD's are the ads for UMASS on the TV broadcast, poorly produced, a grade school production, where continually the words don't match up with the pictures. Somebody!! Fix that embarassment now!! The coaches will have all off season to work on the team!! Start auditioning for next years QB.

It all started from the beginning of the game when they had the ball on the UNH 5 yd line and had been running it down the field. Horrible play calling by passing on first and second down, ball gets returned 100 yrds. They could have easily ran the ball for a TD with Tony Nelson. I blame that totally on the coach, awful decision, game changer right there.

Coach Brown pre-season quotes: "We'll be a much better team from week 1 to 6, I have a good feeling about this team and he who lives in the past will die in the present".
Total team collapse with Coen having a bad case of "senioritis"!
Can't really blame injuries as they
happened late in the season. Need a total overhaul. Play selection again sucks.

i suggest the coaches actually incorporate tackling in practices next year. it is blatant that this team does not know how to tackle. if you don't practice something how can you expect to do it properly when it counts?? a couple of lessens in having some 'heart' may help also!

Can't blame the weather either. Oh well, there's always next year.

Coen played poorly; Brown prepared a poor gameplan; the team was waxed on both lines; poor tackling; execution was was an afterthought. No heart.

No heart? What?

No freakin' heart!

B.S. Those boys have heart. Just no luck yesterday. Nothing went their way right from the start. Gimme a break, no freakin' heart. They give it all they got all week long.

Wish I could agree with you but after playing for four years and watching the team the last 20 years these guys as a whole have been flat most of the year.
