I'm told Kraft's choice will be announced soon. Word is the people(alumni) clamoring for Whipple can't come up with the dough. They talked a good game, but couldn't back it up. Kraft on the other hand has layed out his plan, and backed it up.

Frank, out of curiosity, have you ever given any thought to trying to join the Alumni Foundation or Influencers sponsored by the University that have a say in the decision making process such as hiring coaches? I don't even know what the name is or if such a group exists, but I feel like you would be a great contributor in a forum like that. I know it would diminish your credibility with the blog serving on a Board such as that, but with all of your knowledge and following of the team, you could definitely bring a fresh perspective.

I'm really just curious, nothing more.

Hi Adam:

Thanks for the kind words. I've been a member of the various football booster clubs for a long time. I still have some of the mimeograph Football news letters edited by Gerry Grady twenty years ago.

I started the UMass football blog on my own because I liked reading about the program. Back in the day, Milt Cole of the Hampshire Gazette would publish about five column-inches of UMass material between November and Spring ball in April. I'm amazed at the amount of material available today.

No one has ever approached me about my opinions on the program. If I should ever hit Powerball, be assured they would listen to my ideas :)
