The UMass website has Q&A with Minutemen QB Mike Wegzyn. Mike's a Pre-Med major, with an interest in orthopedic surgery. Hope he goes on to have a great career.

UMass will wear special US Flag helmet decals for the NIU game to honor veterans, active service members and first responders .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark Chiarelli of the UMass Daily Collegian reports the Minutemen are in for their toughest test of the season against NIU.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Tribune Live says the Huskies are no fluke.

NIU LB Mike Santacaterina was born to play football.

Northern Illinois has had a ton of injuries in their backfield.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MAC Report Online has the league power ratings for Week #10.

Our lone win of the season came against Miami (Ohio). The winless Red Hawks took another hit this week.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The NCAA adopts new rules for recruiting and summer access.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought one of the New England land grant colleges (UMass, URI, UMaine, UNH) would be in the running for this year's "ugliest campus" , but Amherst's own Hampshire College made the list.

'getting an interesting feeling about this one. If UMass secoundary plays up to their potential and Lynch has to throw a lot, could be interesting. Hope to see Woodley a lot on offense, and the qb not give the game away.

As a vet, I like the helmet stickers, maybe make it permanent. Afterall, it was Minutemen that started this whole independence thing...

Defense will be thin. Maynes out and now Byrne will be out. Byrne was injured before the start of last game and played through it. Didn't get any better. Too big a hole to fill with a shalow DLine.
