FBS football is getting close, guys!

The Hartford Courant reports the UMMB will appear at the UConn game on August 30th. The UMass Marching Band was always I-A.

The Huskies are picked sixth in the Big East

UMass' first ever FBS Vegas line.

Comcast Sports Philly has a long article about Emil Igwenagu's bid to make the Eagles.

The Bangor Daily News has more on the UMass-Maine game in 2013. This would be the kind of game that would be excellent for a renovated McGuirk. We could keep some of our New England roots and have a winnable bowl-counting game.

Opposing Views looks at the 2012 MAC.

The MAC blog "Hustle Belt" looks at the league's offensive lines for 2012. The feeling here is that the Minutemen O-line is one of the most FBS-ready units on the team. If they have somebody to block for, they will be good.

SB Nation has a video preview of the upcoming MAC football season.

With a number of FBS teams banned from bowls, there won't be enough teams to fill the slots. That means South Alabama is in the running for a bowl slot. If UMass were eligible this year, so would the Minutemen.

Penn State's #1 running back Silas Redd leaves for USC.
