UPDATE:  Matty V reveals that projected UMass starting QB Kellen Pagel is out for the remainder of training camp and for the UConn game.

Post concussion syndrome is nothing to fool with and all UMass fans wish Kellen a swift and complete recovery.

It now looks like RSFR Mike Wegzyn is in the lead for staring QB.

True Freshman A. J. Doyle is #2.

Senior QB Ian Shultis would be the #3. Shultis played in two games in 2010.

Our old friends at the Maize and Blue Blog predict the MAC.

UConn's 6-9 Danish recruit continues to draw a crowd.

CBS Sports has five questions for UConn football going into the 2012 season.

OOC opponent Vanderbilt loses a potential starting LB.

Victor Cruz is afraid replacement officials will lose control of the game.

The NY times has Victor cringing.

Jeromy Miles had some extended playing time in the Bengals' win over the Jets.

Hopefully, UMass' new uniforms will be better than this Virginia Tech idea.

OT, but SB Nation has a Atlantic 10 season preview that has UMass #4 and a possible NCAA berth. They also pick Chaz Williams as Atlantic 10 Player-of-the-Year.

Umass site still sharp. Can they load the incoming freshman to the roster?

That's tough news. Neither backup qb is ready to face uconn.

Hill is supposed to be back and ready for UCONN, so he's obviously going to be starting

You guys make it sound like Pagel was ready for teh QB job. He has never proved being worthy of a 1A starting qb job. he struggled in teh CAA and left a MAC school because he wouldn't have played there. give the young guys a chance. WE're not bowl eligible for another two years anyways.
