Courtney Jackson played a lotin the first 7 games before getting injured. I expect him, Thompson and McLaughlin to start and maybe the CMU transfer Clemons.
What's the status at QB. Last year was unacceptable. is there someone who we are grooming or a significant JC coming in?
Courtney Jackson played in a lot of games last season.
Get your player info right. Courtney Jackson played significant minutes at ED and was the first lineman in in every game. Jimmy Gilchrist was a back-up and also played significant minutes. Going into spring ball he is prob the projected starter at DT with Thompson. Those two need to get bigger to fill the huge gap left by Harrington and Collier. However DE should be very competitive and might even upgrade with Jackson being very athletic and if not for injuries McClaughlin would have started. Add the transfer and it should get pretty competitive. The linebackers however better get learn to get off blocks because the loss of Harrington and Collier means there going to get many more lineman up on the second level.
hopefully we will get some transfers coming in for the dl. if not we are in poor shape. we can only ask so much from our lb.
Yes, I missed Courtney Jackson. My apologies to him.
He played in 6 games and had 8 TT.
Have any of you seen any of the redshirt freshman play? Its hard to make comment about a poss until you see them play. They all redshirted last year because we were so SR deep. I expect one or two of them to step up.
Don't forget the physical stats of these red shirt freshman are from over a year and a half ago, I know K. Byrne is now pushing 300lbs and a former Yale asst. coach watched him play his senior year and believed he was FSB material. Says Umass got a great deal picking him up. Small school players don't get the attention they deserve. As a junior ,Holy Cross scouted him and said he could have stepped into thier line up then. So don't panic boys...
