As reported by a commenter yesterday, Antoine Tharpe a 5-11, 180 pd DB from Coral Springs FL has verbaled to UMass.

Tharpe is the second verbal (that we know about) in UMass' 2010 class.

I think Reid would certainly be welcome here, all the SC fans think he's a legitimate QB, but they're also pretty confident he's going to Coastal Carolina or Charleston Southern. They think part of the reason he's leaving is he's homesick. He left the team once before to live at home, but that was following his girlfriend's tragic death in a house fire. If he's really considering UMass, maybe the thinking is to start his life over somewhere completely different. I hope whatever he decides works out for him, sounds like he's had a rough couple of years.
