Wednesday before FIU--September 14th, 2016

I called the UMass ticket office and they e-mailed me my McGuirk parking passes. No problem. I get a yellow lot parking pass because I have season tickets, but in the case of McGuirk my group is split into two cars, so I needed another pass.

A.D. Bamford says no one will be turned away, so this year will be a good time to get the new parking system in place. To my mind, it hints that there are some plans in the works for McGuirk.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FIU has their game notes for UMass up.

They also have a first look at FIU vs UMass.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dan Malone reports UMass QB Ross Comis was still limited by physical problems. Whipple still expects him to start Saturday. Malone also says backup QB James Sosinski has left the program. Sosinski was in a walking boot during the August practice I attended.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matty Vautour also has a post on Comis.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Miami Herald reports FIU QB Alex McGough is "probable" for UMass.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The UMass Daily Collegian says the Minutemen look to get the running game going against FIU.

UMass is dead last in FBS rushing offense. We're also dead last in total offense.

In defense UMass is #63 in total defense (tied with LSU) and #68 in scoring defense. FIU is #107 in scoring defense and #109 in total defense.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Logan Laurant leads the nation with 835 punting yards; he's #22 in yards/punt with 43.9.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vegas Insiders has UMass-FIU as "pick 'em".

UMass should be working on the receivers and the offense, because until that is fixed, parking will not be an issue!!

Good point in the previous comment. Also, not a great thing to hang our hat on that our punter is leading the nation in total punt yards. All that means is a lot of 3 and outs from deep in our own territory.

Suggestion to blogger - it would be great if you could make the link open up in a new tab instead of your blog getting redirected to the site through the links.

Thanks!

Most browsers have "open link in a new tab" option if you right click on the link instead of left click.

Blogger does not have that as a native option in the blog editor. I would have to open the HTML code for that day's blog and manually add target="_blank" to each link. Since I publish a lot of links, that would be a lot of work. I spend a lot of time on the Blog already.

There is a non-Blogger java script that will do that for each link, but I would want to study that before I tried it.

Thanks for the clarification. Keep up the good work!

Attention UMASS fans: If you do not have a parking pass by now, you now must walk to the game. If you want to purchase tickets, you can park at Big Y, walk over, buy tickets, then walk back to Big Y.Then please proceed to drive to Mullins Center, park in an undegignated area, walk back over to McGuirk Stadium.Enjoy your experience. Don't forget to get basketball tickets, where we will park everyone in one lot, and have no one directing cars in or out of these lots,we will continue to block most exits after the basketball games, and create chaos. Also donate money do have a reserved spot that we won't hold for you, and then wonder why UMASS HAS A GREAT SPORTS MARKETING PROGRAM, BUT A POOR ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT.

Thanks for the ax grind. Not much credibility. Keep up the good work Bamford. There will always be cranks who don't like any change

Bamford has already said no one will be turned away. So everyone take a deep breath and drive to lots 22 and 23, if you're not in yellow lot already.
