Recruiting 2013-- E.J. Burston

The Harold Tribune reports that two Florida WR's will take visits to UMass.

"Palmetto senior wide receivers Shaq Harris and E.J. Burston will visit the University of Massachusetts later this month. Harris also has a trip planned for Toledo of the Mid-American Conference.

Burston’s offers also include Middle Tennessee State and FIU, while Harris weighs his options from Miami University (Ohio) and Western Michigan, in addition to UMass and Toledo."

Harris, as we know verbaled to UMass.

If UMass is invited to join the BE, how do you think the University will respond, and if this is the case, what would be the motivation?

Yes, I think UMass would and should jump at the chance if the Big East stays in it's latest configuration.

Playing UConn, Temple and Rutgers in football AND basketball would be too good to turn down.

Also Matty V described a diminished A10 as a "nightmare scenario" for UMass athletics. Remember that would apply to UMass women's basketball too.

In addition, a BCS football league would mean more $$ for UMass athletics.

As a member of a BCS league we would not have to schedule two-for-one contracts for football with teams like Vanderbilt.

Frank, I thought Rutgers was going to the Big 10?

You're right. Rutgers is leaving the Big East for the Big 10.

I need to make up some 8 X 10 glossies with charts and arrows (Alice's Restaurant reference for the younger readers)
