Former UMass great Marcel Shipp has signed with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL
The Locomotives Wikipedia page is here. The Locomotives will be coached by former Giants HC Jim Fassel and will have a bunch of former NFL stars on the roster.

Brett Kahn of The Sports Network previews the Northeast Conference. He picks 2009 UMass foe Albany to win their third straight league title.
Current NY Giants coach Tom Coughlin speaks to the Albany players at their training camp. Good speech.

We've already met Fordham QB John Skelton in the 2007 playoffs. Now the NFL is taking a look. Note that I found this link over on the always interesting Draft Daddy site.

The FCS 2009 College Football Handbook is a work in progress and is up to a 35 page download here (pdf).

Kansas State does not have a starting QB yet either. The front runner is Carson Coffman.

Got to give credit to Albany for their OOC schedule. They open up with Georgia Southern, UMass & Maine b4 heading into NEC play.
I think both Albany and Stony Brook in the coming years are two schools who are trying to upgrade all their sports programs and both aspire to be competitive with UMass.
how about marcel for the umass hall of fame?
frank, do you know the time of the scrimage tomorrow?
albany should have beat umass last year.
Just FYI from a KSU fan. You guys might want to check out this blog, http://www.bringonthecats.com/. They've been doing a position by position breakdown of the Cats along with a bunch of other stuff you'll have to wade through.
You're right, we don't have a starting QB named yet. It will probably be Coffman, but Gregory will likely get plenty of playing time in our non-conference games.
The Patriot League boasts two of the best QBs in the nation--Rudolph and Skelton--both considered to be good NFL prospects.
Armando's brother is the starting kicker for Holy Cross.
I don't know the time of the practice.
I believe the practices are closed anyway. They made me leave before the Media Day practice started.
The coaches must be torn with naming a qb. makes no sense every caa team will see who you have at qb in 10 days.
Tom Coughlin = BC Screw him
Skelton shredded Umass back in
07-Watching that game thinking
why can't Umass run an offense
like that/thinking we are
going to lose to Fordam-are
you kidding me
Maybe I missed you mention it, but Brendon Levengood has joined the team. You blogged about him in January.
Cruz, Hanson, Horne, Miles, and Nelson all represent the team very well. They're articulate young men, which makes me feel proud to be an alumni. Go UMass!
