Spring Paractice Starts today!

At last! For a football fan, March is month lost in the wilderness. Today UMass starts the 2008 season with the begining of Spring Practice.

As expected, the weather is crappy. I spend some time on NCAA website and I could not find a more recent Spring Practice rules than this page. I would expect that there have been additional changes since then.

I hope to attend at least one of the practices and obtain some images. So far, UMass has not published an article about spring practice or published a schedule.

Ridenhour was a great special teams player, but did not start at DB. He will be replaceable if he does not come back. It says alot about our athletes and depth at db where Ridenhour was the 5th db at Penn State and could not start at UMass. I sincerely hope the kid can straighten out and rejoin the team. If he does rejoin the team, I'm sure Brown will have him on a short leash. The kid made some viscous hits on special teams last year.

If he does not rejoin the team, it opens up another scholie and I'm sure Brown will pick up another transfer over the summer.

Ridenhour and Meggett both dismissed from school.

I saw a little. I saw the ol coach yelling at the ol boys a bunch. Damn I wouldn't want to cross him where he really got mad. The first team guys looked like they were fast and looked like they were working hard but the coach wasn't happy with it.

wonder who's gonna step up and be a star this year on either side of the ball. Its gonna be fun to see these guys develop

Meggett gone too? These FBS transfers seem extremely hit or miss, character-wise. Hope they're worth the risk.

There are plenty of FBS transfers who are not problems, and plenty of players who weren't FBS transfers who do have character problems. Don't try to label just FBS transfers as having possible character issues.
