I hope Whipple is not just counting on recycling or converting existing Umass players to reach a realistic quota of running backs for the upcoming season. At the moment this is a glaring deficiency which could ruin an otherwise promising season.

Definitely need depth at RB. I have to say that Odiah could emerge as a real sleeper if given the reps. I like to see local kids given opportunity, and Odiah and Orekoya are very good backs. I'm glad that Whip moved Odiah back to RB from WR. But because the backfield is so thin in ranks, I'm concerned about what will happen if MY gets dinged up later in the season. I hope he remains healthy, and can help groom Odiah and Orekoya. A grad. transfer, if true, would be a nice addition. Ally showed promise last season, but I think he's a third-down, change-of-pace guy.
