Recruiting 2008-- WR/TE Richard Rossi

UMass is recruiting Richard Rossi, a 6-2 210 pd WR/TE from Milford Academy, NY.

Rossi is a Scout.com three star player. He is a Rivals Top-50 Prep player.

Other schools interested in Rossi are Eastern Michigan and Syracuse.

His Milford Academy page is here .

Rich, UMass has a better football program than either Eastern Michigan or Syracuse ! (just ask all the Orange players who transferred to UMass)

Ya, but UMass isn't a FBS program and kids want to play at the highest level of competition not next to it. If he has a choice he probably will go to a FBS program even if it is Syracuse or Wester Michigan or etc..

I would rather compete for a national title every year – FCS / I-AA – than play for a perennial middle of the pack / loser school like Temple, Syracuse, or Buffalo. (Although Buffalo had one of its best years ever).

There is no point in going to a FBS / IA school if you are going to sit on the bench and only get on the field on special teams.
