Around football

The CAA is going great guns in its first year as both a football and basketball league.

The CAA's game day page with all the audio links and stuff is here .

The Sports Network covers todays games.

If you don't get Eric Gemunder's FCS newsletter the bulk of this week's issue is here .

A Delaware-UNH article is here . Remember the game is on CN8 .

In other news, Appalachian State's QB Armanti Edwards may be out for the season.

And down in DII, Chadron State's Dannny Woodhead is only 121 yards short of being the college football all-time rushing leader (in any division).

Great story on the kid from Chadron. The kid can definately play, as Chadron St. took down FCS playoff Montana St last year. I'm a bit surprised the kid did not end up at a FCS school. Stories like that is what college football is all about!! It doesn't get any better than that. Reminds me of "Rudy" in a sense.

Unfortunate about Edwards. I don't think App. St. can make a run to the championship game without him. If they take a chance and play him later this year, he could lose a red-shirt year if he is injured again. Tough call to make.

The Mountaineers are not the same team when he's out.

I want to win the Nation Championship This Year.

Last night I watched our championship game against App. State (Dec 15, 06). Edwards was the star of the game. After watching the game I wondered how many games we would have beat them if we played against them for 10 games.

Our OL, DL, and WR's didn't have a good game. Have our WR, OL, and DL gotten better since that game?

Well, remember Appalachian State did the same thing to Michigan at Michigan.

We played them tough for three quarters.

The defense did not loose the game. We needed to score more than 17 points.

I think the 2007 UMass team has more talent than last year. We'll have to wait and see how far that takes us.
