This is the week (maybe the day) that we hear about UMASS's move to the MAC. This has been such a long time coming and I can't wait for the (good) news. BRING IT ON!

The University should rename the stadium in part: Call it Parks Field at McGuirk Stadium.

No, no, no.

Loved George, but he is about to have a building named after him.

Love Anonymous's suggestion of naming the gulf "Parks Field". My guess is he spent more time there than anyone else ever has.

5 or 6 times a year? Maybe make it generous and say 10 times for various reasons. Not a shot.

Excluding grounds crew and practice time, whether it be 5-10 times a year, who has been associated with UMass football for more than 30+ years?

Mike Hodges the operations manager has been with the team for over 30 years whether as an assistant coach, head coach or the head of football operations

I seen this kid play he is much faster and bigger in person , but I remember him saying "if Umass move you could see me still being a minutemen" then gave a little smile.

I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing out Mr. Hodges to me. No disrespect intended.

perhaps the most meaningful tribute might be "The George Parks Memorial Umass Marching Band". It might be a slightly awkward handle but He was the heart and soul of the Band for all that time and most responsible for it's prominence today.
