Recruiting 2009- Royce Terrell

UMass is recruiting Royce Terrell, a 6-2 215 pd RB/DB from Weymouth HS. He is projected to be a safety in College football.

Terrell had over 3,500 yards rushing and scored 200+ points for Weymouth.

He also has an offer from Northeastern and Bryant.

The Weymouth Ledger & Patriot News has an article here .

Another article on him from the Patriot Ledger here .

I'm getting concerned when I continue seeing our competition in recruiting battles consist of a weak I-AA program like Northeastern and a I-AA wannabe like Bryant. Why aren't we competing with UNH or JMU or Deleware or Richmond or Villanova instead of these rinky-dink programs?

Does anyone else share these concerns?

I do. We also do here about Coach Brown going on recruiting trips like Whipple did.

Actually we don't hear about any recruiting we are doing. Are we waiting for the leftovers from the kids who don't get offers from IA schools?

If we can't build our team with transfers (Delaware) we need to recruit a lot better than we did last year.
