Recruiting 2014---Rohan Blackwood

TampaBay.com reports UMass has offered to Rohan Blackwood a 6-5 195 athlete from Nature Coast HS.

AFAIK, Blackwood would be UMass' first ever sophomore offer.

Max Preps page here.

Blackwood is also a top-25 power forward in hoops.

How many of these florida kids does coach molnar expect to sign? These are far fetched recruits. Seems like we are focusing our recruiting base on florida. Big mistake.

PP do you really think everyone offered will sign? No wonder you are left to voice your lame opinions on message boards criticizing a coach before anything transpires. Do you have a son who lives in MA who you think they should be recruiting? Don't worry Fitchburg St will be making an offer soon.

Got to be proactive and aggressive in recruiting--especially at the FCS level. This ain't merely homegrown football anymore. It's speed, speed, speed! Ge the best we can from NE states, but don't forget we compete with Connecticut and BC as well as Syracuse and the best of the Big Ten. Gotta like what Molnar is doing. Get out there!

Big mistake to recruit in FL??? Would you rather the focus be in Maine? My how views have changed from a few months ago.

If you all recall, Molnar stated he was going to focus on recruiting in the northeast. Remember his statement regarding the cold and how he doesn't want players that think more about how cold it is on game day rather than the game itself..Look everywhere, but don't overlook the backyard, we have had a few gems recently and a couple more now that have great potential that the new coaches can help develop...
