Spencer Riddenhour, who spent one season with UMass, is off to jail.

Paul Pasqualoni will receive $1.5 million per year as the new coach of Huskies.

The CAA Blogger has a couple of posts on CAA invites to the NFL Combine and weekly roundup.

TSN has some material on the FCS invites to the Combine.

Jackson State is banned from FCS playoffs this year and may lose NCAA membership because of academic problems.

A Bleacher Report writer thinks Rhode Island has the ugliest uniform in college football. Then again, he thinks Western Kentucky still plays in FCS.

I believe that Spencer Ridenhour was thrown off the Umass team for disciplinary reasons. It is unfortunate and a little bit unfair to have him closely identified as a former Umass football player....he was recognized and treated as a "bad apple"

I was thinking the same thing. For his short affiliation with UMass, they make two mentions of UMass football.

To have the first sentence refer to Ridenhour as a former UMass football player is way un-fair to the program.

My question today is this: If the MAC extends an invite before the season, does UMass have to publicly accept immediatelY, ending FCS playoff eligibility? If we accept in, say, November, would we still be eligible for the playoffs? I'm looking forward to the FBS but would love to see UMass make one more playoff drive.

We would want to announce our decision right away. UMass would want to maximize the time sent on what needs to be done to make the move.

If we can't be in the playoffs, it sure would be nice to knock Delaware and a couple of others out.

My source says news is coming soon, as in a couple of weeks.
