Not sure if any coaching changes were made in the offseason yet. I was told guido falbo is currently interviewing with uconn for a position. I believe he has some ties to that staff prior to umass.

Dudzinski did interview for the defensive coordinator job at maryland. Not sure if he is still in the running and the position is still open.

Wait out entering the FBS until an offer is made from the Big East. Why be tethered to a third-rate division for years, particularly one in which the teams are so geographically removed from Amherst? Doesn't make sense. Go for the Big East. Right now, as it stands, we could compete favorably with the middle of the pack. The top teams in the CAA could fare very well against all of the MAC programs and most of the Big East teams.

Are this kids stats for real? What a way to cap off a great recruiting class! Nice job. Can't wait to see the results in action.

I'm sick of everyone with this Big East BS. They don't want us because have have nothing to offer them right now. We have an above average FBS division football team. We would be one of the worst hoop teams in their conference. The MAC is a stepping ladder so we need to go there for a few years get our scholarships up, and make a couple bowl games before they will consider us. Most people don't realize if we go to FBS it doesn't just boost football it boosts UMASS girls sports also because they would need to add an additional 23 scholarships to their sports. The MAC is great for now but not forever. These Big East hopers have no clue what they are talking about. It's almost as insane as the guy that thought UMASS would have its own NEW England channel once we joined the MAC.

Ah, as the last commenter states Long's stats are pretty good. I tried to verify those 720 yards but couldn't find a primary source. So we'll have to go with what the UMass press release says.

We've been over the Big East thing a dozen times.

The problem with waiting for a Big East bid is that the Big East is not coming for us. EVER. Right now we have nothing that would interest them.

More instructive is Temple. They were thrown out of the Big East and moved to the MAC. They WON in the MAC. And now they are drawing interest from CUSA. Temple has options.

We can WIN in the MAC. If UMass has a winning FBS program, then we have something to sell when future conference re-alignments come. As I have stated before, I believe that the Big East is dead certain to eject the Catholic basketball schools some time in the future.

If UMass goes 8-4 in the MAC and has a couple of Bowl games under its belt, well then, I think the Big East would take a serious look at us.

and Frank followed up with an explaination.

Its time to join the MAC. If a miracle occurs, and CUSA should pop up with an offer, then I would certainly be in favor of joining.

The MAC is where we should go and I would be happy to join in BB also. I don't see that we are going to have any success in the A-10 until we hire a coach who can recruit. Why are we allowing our 2'nd rate BB program to control our first rate Football Program?
