The NCAA will shortly approve two more bowl games for BCS teams, which will bring the total to an all-time high of 35. In long ago 1996 there were only 16 post season bowl games. To fill the slots the NCAA may have to allow teams with losing records to be bowl eligible.

Happy to see Brandon Hill came out of state to select UMASS over Rutgers.

he didnt choose Umass over Rutgers, he got offered to be a preferred walk on at Rutgers and recieved a full scholarship at Umass. he made the right choice.

From what I here Hawkins is running with the first team!

NO, there was never any preferred walking on he was offered full scholarships by Rutgers,Delaware, and UMASS. Also, read he was getting a lot of attention from Miami, and Akron, right before he became a Minutemen. But, he def. made the right choice!

get your facts straight. this was posted on the blog, Hill did not get offered by rutgers. I live 20 minutes from Rutgers and follow the team.

“I was a nervous for a while with no offers. I finally got this offer and I liked it. I liked the coaches, the atmosphere, the other kids on the team. I know I can play at this level. It’s just a great fit for me.’’

Hill made just one official visit, that being to the Amherst campus. He said Akron was close to making an offer, while Rutgers and Delaware were interested early in the recruiting process.

Whatever. I'm glad he's here. From what I've heard, Hill was the QB the coaching staff wanted.

Hill is a good qb from a good high school program excited for his future at umass.

If you read rivals.com it said Hill was offered by Rutgers, but the scholarship was pulled when a QB that Rutgers had ranked higher committed to them.

Just for the loyal fan that wanted to get the facts straight, he was offered his sophomore year. It wasn't that the offers got pulled, it was that other kids committed ahead of him because he wanted to wait out his offers. However, considering that your 20 minutes away from Rutgers you can attend the NJ vs. Northeast All Star Game that he is going to play in on June 6,at Rutgers and talk to him yourself.

Ok well being from Audubon, and really close to Brandon Hill; He was offered a full ride from Rutgers on Sept. 2 his junior year and Delaware followed up with a full ride also. He waited because he didnt find the right school and other kids comitted before he did.
