Saturday--September 5th, 2015

The "Who will be the lead UMass running back?" poll closed yesterday with 80 votes.

Lorenzo Woodley 28 votes 35%
Jamal Wilson 25 votes 31%
Sekai Lindsay 13 votes 16%
Shadrach Abrokwah 11 votes 13%
Andy Isabella 3 votes 3%
Marquis Young 0 votes 0%

The results pretty much match the travel squad to Colorado as announced by Coach Whipple. Nobody has seen the two freshmen run, and that probably accounts for their totals.

Hawaii only managed 100 yards rushing against the Buffs on Thursday. Let's hope the UMass rushing squad sets the tone for the 2015 season with a good effort next Saturday.

I watched Western Michigan hang with Michigan State last night 24-37. The Broncos trailed most of the game did a very credible job hanging with the Spartans.

The MAC had another lightning delayed game with Kent State-Illinois. Unlike the Toledo-Stony Brook game, this one will be made up today.

Northern Illinois tries to get more student attendance at football games by giving away free tuition.

The Ralphie Report reviews the Buffs loss to Hawaii.

Florida International's late-game preparations yielded immediate results against UCF.

Temple's offense is focused on the run game.
