Why does it not surprise me that this did not work out?

UMass had been trying to set up a game with UConn for 2012. Jeff Thomas of the Springfield Republican says it did not work out.

My lasting image of UMass-UConn football is a great one! Obviously they don't want to take a chance on being upset. Congrats to them for being in FBS but we can find someone else, like Army or maybe Syracuse. The game at Army was a great experience and beats a day in Hartford every time.
