Saturday--August 29th, 2015

The #2 quarterback poll finished yesterday with 90 votes. The results:

Ross Comis  64 votes 71%
Austin Whipple 15 votes 16.6%
Randall West  7 votes 7.7%
James Sosinski 4 votes 4%

I haven't seen Comis in a game situation, but it seems he is playing well in camp. Things would have to get  really bad to play true freshman Sosinski and break his redshirt.

OT, but UMass will also be adding the Gamecocks to its hoops schedule. South Carolina went 17-16 in 2014 and were 6-12 in the SEC.

We just heard from the coaches how much Porter has improved this year as a cornerback and 3 days later(8/28) he's moved to WR . . . go figure!!! Tom M UM '72

I think, the coaches think, the new freshman defensive back class is pretty good.

I don't know that Porter has either the instincts or the nature to play corner. He's a good athlete, and the coaches probably felt that his skill and potential can be realized more quickly as a receiver.

I think the coaches didn’t want to just give the job to Brackett, and I agree the incoming DBs this year and next are very talented.
