Monnday--August 31st, 2015

I took some images of the new UMass uniforms about two weeks ago. I was asked to hold them until after Media day. The new unis are really nice.

Don't want to think about '16 just yet, but with so many players graduating, and several no doubt off to the NFL, I think MW will bring in more than the usual number of transfers and graduate students with immediate eligibility. Call the schedule what you will--juggernaut, crucible, odyssey--the staff will prepare the team for the challenges that await. The current underclassmen will see some significant playing time this year to prepare for the future.

Frank, They asked you to hold off on showing these pictures? They have been all over internet for a month. Did you ask them not to promote football ticket sales until after the season?

My only question for 2016 is where me and my buddies are going to take a road trip to add to our Michigan/ Wisconsin/Penn St and soon ND resume.

Hey- The sales and marketing crew, did nothing over the 1st six months of 2015. Shame on Tim Kenney for just cashing his checks. The new crew have had to start from scratch. Luckily, 1st home game is 19 days to go. And unlike previous regime, they know what they are doing.

I was curious about sitting on the photos of the uniforms as well. Daquan Mack put them on Twitter well over a month ago. There was no big reveal or anything, no video of the team seeing them, anything like that. Seems like they were just trying to maintain decorum by having an "official" release on media day? Cat was already out of the bag though...

Yeah, there had been a number of blurry Twitter images out there for some time.

Since the mannequins were on public display, I thought UMass fans would like some high-rez images.

Although I did not talk to him about it, Dan Malone had been in the Performance center prior to Media Day and he held off publishing images until that day. I try not to step on any toes, because the UMass Media office has been good to me. If they wanted to "officially" present the unis on Media Day it was fine by me.

Who knows, maybe the players "leaked" the images with official permission to create a buzz for Media Day :)
