Monday before the Hofstra Game--11/16/09

The JMU student newspaper tell about the first win at UMass since 1987.

Matty V. has his three stars from the James Madison game: Tyler Holmes, Perry McIntyre and Josh Maurer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walpole's Ryan Izzo broke the state scoring record Saturday. He'll be playing lacrosse for UMass next year. Wonder if he'd be interested in joining Travis Tripucka in playing two sports?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next year's BCS/I-A opponent Michigan is having a real long season.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Armanti Edwards and the ASU Mountaineers are back.

i find it hard to believe that after that performance nobody has anything to say

Izzo could be a good slot receiver. He's quick and shifty and has good hands and instincts.

i just think back to the pre season when the coahces were very slow to name a qb. I would really like to see octavious at least get a shot in the spring.

I wouldnt mind seeing Izzo go out for football. can't hurt them because hes on a lax scholarship. If I am Morris I ask him or welcome him to walk on.

Re. Ryan Izzo...I don't think the two HCs would allow him to play two sports.

izzo would struggle to get time playing football at umass. the only position where he could be useful would be as a kick returner and punt returner. He's just too small for 1AA and he doesn't have blazing speed for his size. He will be a great addition to the lax team after he finishes up with reigning lax state champs walpole.
