The UMass Football Blog starts its third year today.

Two years ago on Sunday, June 5,2005 I made my very first post on the UMass Football Blog. The name started out as "The UMass Football Fanzone", but that was too much of a mouthfull, so it got shortened to simply the UMass Football Blog.

Today's post is the 1,367th post. Sitemeter says there has been about 50,000 hits and about 100,000 page views. I say with all modesty that the UMass Football blog is probably the most active blog in FCS/I-AA football.

This blog post on a legal blog gives a funny take about blogging. A quote:" I write with a different voice when blogging than in my scholarship. More specifically, my blog posts allow me to write in a more informal and witty way. I really enjoy this. I like the “blogging me.” I wish I could meet this person in real life."

I've had a lot of fun with the blog. I fully intend to keep it going.

I think 2007 is going to be an interesting year for UMass football. Here's hoping that I'll be blogging from Chattanoogna again this year.

Thanks dear readers for stopping by. It's been a fun two years.

Frank,

Congratulations on your 2nd blogiversary. My son is on the team, but like so many other topics, doesn't fully disclose what's happening on the field or in the locker room.

Team business or privilege or something.

Your blogspot has kept me informed and added something extra in terms of providing the history and tradition of UMass football. I enjoy your comments in the offseason and during playoff time. Go Minutemen.

Thanks

Thank you for the comment. The occasional e-mail or comment helps keep me motivated. I probably spend too much time on the Blog, but what can I do?

I probably should have mentioned that one of the goals of the Blog is to positive about the program. There always seems to have been some people who were always negative. That won't happen here. If UMass plays the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Sisters ring up 400 yards passing-----well, I'm going to be blogging that the Sisters were holding all the game and the refs weren't calling it. :)

Hope your boy has a healthy and successful career at UMass.

Frank,
Congratulations and thank you. As I've said before this is my daily fix for I-AA football, and you do such a great job keeping tabs on all the latest happenings. I was just a casual observer when I first came to your blog, but now I make it a point to stop in everyday and read up on what’s going on.

Regular readers will know that Matt publishes one of the top BCS/I-A blogs "Pitch Right" that covers Navy football.

I have a permanent link to his blog in my sidebar.

In my previous comment, I meant to refer to Adam as the Navy Blogger. Sometimes my fingers screw up the brilliant prose my brain comes up with
:)

Geno's Blog "Paladin Walk" also rates a permanent link in my sidebar. He's keeping an eye on Furman and the Southern Conference for us.
