Saturday--February 4th, 2017

Well, we're heading into the "slow news" portion of the year. I've been cranking out posts seven days a week since August. Unless we sign a defensive coordinator or some other major news, I'm going to start to take Sundays off until things pick up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former NFL player Wade Davis spoke about gender equality during a visit to UMass. He also spoke with the UMass football team.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former UMass QB Gary Wilkos is enjoying life after football. Wilkos was one of the most impressive freshman QB's the Minutemen ever had. IMHO, he would have been an All-American if he had not been injured.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Pilot Online previews Old Dominion's 2107 schedule and thinks the Monarchs will have a tougher game in Amherst.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ONE THAT GOT AWAY

Dan McGeough signs with Army.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Victor Cruz is uncertain about his future with the Giants.

I wonder why UMASS never gets their alumni to support the team and school that gave them so much. Wilkos was a special player, could run and throw.

Thanks! Still having fun with the blog after all these years.

I intend to keep it going in 2017. Go UMass.

All the UMass alumni non the coaching staff are supporting the team as they get paid much less than their counterparts at other institutions. Also, Vic and James Ihedigbo do a lot. The alumni are just not publicly touting what they do. That is very common among athlete alumni at many schools.

Frank -great blog-keep it going, only good coverage, better than even the SID office. Please get interview with McCutcheon or Kenney, who both ruined Umass football for a decade. Would love to hear how they fell for Morris, Molnar, awful. Funny how Kenney's poor game management cost Bona a basketball game tonight, UMASS fans are glad to be done with those two incompetents.

Anon, stop bashing Tim Kenney, although he was clearly an awful administrator, he was a good guy. He always gave us free tix, gear and food, when he knew you. He had time to talk, even when he was busy reading the newspaper at his desk.
