FYI -none of these offers mean anything, just look at a year ago’s posts.

I agree.Just putting out glossy offers to a lot of multi star players who don't even have to considerUMass is not the way to go at this point-unless your an asst. coach who needs to fulfill his quota of monthly offers. Go after good players you can probably get at this stage, show them loyalty from the beginning of the recruiting process, and then show you can develop them into a team of solid players. If you can really coach, then success will gradually come, and with that the ability to recruit more talented players. As things are now the end of the recruiting cycle turns into a last minute grab bag.I repeat:"If you can really coach"

Kinda disappointing,if the rumors are true,to hear that the proposed IPF is only going to be a bubble. If they are not going to do much with the stadium, then at least give us a real building toshow the athletes that UMass really means it.Otherwise we are advertising ourselves to the conferences around the country as inept and financially unsound.

IPF, Another Bamford fail? Or should we blame the notoriously uninvolved and cheap alumni?

I would say that the only way to recruit highly rated players is to promise immediate plain time; otherwise, the bait isn't gonna hook many of the three stars. The schedule is a plus as well, but the stadium as we all know, is the elephant in the room. A great education in a cold climate is offsetting to most players in FL, GA, CA, TX. We need the multiuse stadium. Now.

I'm one of the "few" involved alumni and the AD reached out to me directly--which I give them credit. I was not impressed by the person who met with me. I left the meeting with a very negative view of the AD, and I feel Bamford is doing a decent job. I was going to make a much larger donation but after the meeting, the money is going to other organizations that my family cares about. I had a lot of questions and the person didn't give me a very good feeling (no eye contact, arms crossed, snobby). No wonder it is so hard for the AD to raise money with that type of attitude! I wouldn't hire the person from the AD; much less give them a large donation! I wonder if others donors have had the same experience or mine was just an anomaly.
Guess what, I have had no follow up from the person... They need to hire Frank!

The lure of immediate playing time hasn't brought in too many 3stars in the recent past. This team needs to offer something more tangible than just playing time and a non conference grand tour of the USA.Make the lure something UMass has, bricks and mortar is a good place to start.Build a decent Indoor Practice Facility. No wonder Bamford has not talked about the details of the IPF. A bubble has no details or attractiveness.

9:51AM POSTER= Fake news. Typical cheap UMass alumni/fan, all talk no action.”I was going to give a much larger donation”...Bla,bla,bla...until his wife who wears the pants said no! What a phony! Judging people, and not giving...typical.

The new hoops facility has brought in very good recruits. The new football facility has what meeting rooms a workout room and offices? It has helped somewhat but not like an IPF and a major stadium renovation.

I agree. An indoor facility is essential, especially in our climate, and could be used by all sports. Then, a stadium. But with a successful season or two, all that UMass has in its favor, namely the quality of the education, will (or should) become what it should be now: education first.

I personally have been involved too. In my opinion Bamford gets it. He is in my view doing all he can to get this thing right. If given the time and the resources he will get us there.

Not "fake news." Just my take on my meeting with the AD. Why would I make this up? I have donated a lot of money to the University over the years. 11:23 poster, how has your meetings with AD been when asked for money--positive/negative?
