Schubert’s nine catches against Boston College in 1972's 28-7 defeat of the Eagles was one of the events that got me hooked on Umass Football (I was there).
When Schubert graduated in 1972 he was Umass’ all-time leading receiver. He went on to play for the Chicago Bears.
Now he owns the Manchester Wolves arena football team.
At Umass:
• 3rd all time in highest ave/catch 20.00 in 1972
• 3rd all time in career ave/catch 17.7 (1970-1972)
• 9th in career TD’s 11
• 586 career punt return yards
• 2nd in both career 12.2 and single season 16.8 (1972)
