UMass Football News--October 9th, 2022

The Minutemen defense is flat fun to watch. There has not been many aspects of UMass football that has been enjoyable these last few years. Coach Brown has coached a remarkable turnaround. Liberty is a strong team that could go undefeated in their Group-of-Five games in 2022.

The defense had a terrific goal line stand, the first in memory. They had 3 SACKS, 10 (!) TFL and a fumble return for a TD. Liberty was held to 5-15 on third and fourth downs and UMass held on both fourth down attempts.

Garrett Druzo came in and provided a spark in the first half. He threw accurately and showed the Minutemen offense is not far off with effective QB play. Hopefully , he was not seriously injured and will return next week.

We finally have something to cheer for. UMass football is improving folks!
