One side effect of UConn's going independent will likely be a yearly game with fellow independent UMass. It would seem logical that A.D. Ryan Bamford could use the leverage to get a yearly basketball game between the two schools.
UConn hoops just got hit with sanctions by the NCAA for violations in the Kevin Ollie era.
Since we already play UConn in Hockey East, there should be an annual trophy for the school that wins at last two of the three games.
