The recent lawsuit decision against the NCAA is going to change college sports even more that the unlimited transfer ruling.
If schools have to directly pay players, then except for the forty or so Power Five schools that can afford it, it will probably mean the end of Olympic sports (except as club sports) at colleges.
Title IX is another wild card. If UMass wants to pay football, men's basketball and men's hockey, does the athletic dept have to pay an equal amount to UMass' women's teams?
Will players still have to go to classes? If they're being paid, and their salary depends on how well they play, why waste time going to school?

Polk can play both ways as an OLB/TE. He has seven offers including Toledo and Miami (Ohio) from the MAC. He also has a Power Five offer from Kentucky. There is lots of playing time up for grabs in the future in Amherst. Polk could have a great career playing for Coach Brown.

King is the fifth OL transfer to commit this cycle. He can play either tackle position and should be in the mix for playing time with the Minutemen.
Watkins-Hunter had ten offers out of HS including Army, Navy and Air Force.
He had 25 GP 30 TT 2 INT's and 12 PD for Georgetown.
Watkins-Hunter has length and experience and should be a solid addition to the Minutemen's defensive backfield.

Kelley has five offers including Power Five school West Virginia. Both Bowling Green and Toledo have offered from the MAC. He could have an excellent career in Amherst playing for the Minutemen.

Jackson has nine offers with UMass just offering May 2nd. He has Power Five offers from Kentucky and Pitt. A number of MAC teams have offered as well. He could play for the best defensive coach in college football and get an East coast education in Amherst.
Brian Kilbane, a 6-3 310 pound transfer OL from Akron has committed to UMass
Kilbane had 16 offers out of HS and has played in eleven FBS games at Bowling Green and Akron. UMass needs three new starters along the OL and Kilbane should compete for playing time immediately.

Mike Traini of "Fight Massachusetts" has a post on UMass' future scheduling ins-and-outs to accommodate its upcoming MAC conference schedule.

"The athletic administration at UMass has laid out a framework for out of conference scheduling that they would like to follow whenever possible: One guarantee game on the road against a P4 opponent, an FCS opponent at home, a game against a peer G5 FBS program and their rivalry game against the University of Connecticut."

UMass cancels ten future football games. In 2025 the Minutemen will have a MAC league schedule, so games contracted as an Independent have to go.
The current 2025 schedule is here. There currently is one too many non-league games and no FCS game. Changes to the 2025 schedule will continue.
