This article is from "Athletics Business" and is about maximizing field use and budgets using seasonal domes. Its got a video of the setup of Harvard's bubble. The sound track is pretty annoying and it starts slow, but hang on to the end when the bubble is lighted, then it's pretty impressive.
On a cold dreary January or February day the UMass coaching staff can show recruits the lighted bubble and it will make a difference. The bubble will also show the AAC, should there be a conference realignment, that UMass is investing in the program.
This is good news for the football team and athletic dept. While not a hard-sided facility, it'll be functional and a big help in bad-weather Amherst. Along with the scoreboard, it's another year of improvements. UMass went decades without any sort of improvements in McGuirk and this means we're still on the way up.
The Orlando Sentinel previews the USF Bulls and ranks them #72. USF went 10-2 last year. The Bulls have to replace most of their offensive output, but retain most of their AAC-leading defense. If USF gets by Elon, Georgia Tech, Illinois and East Carolina, they may be the highest ranked team to play at McGuirk in the FBS era.

UMass Director of Football Operations Paul Gorham passed away on June 9th. Fifty-seven is too young to leave. Condolences to Gorham's family and the UMass football staff.
As Mike says, this is a big signing for the Minutemen. Norwood is their first ever recruit that has been rated as four-stars by any recruiting service.
The Orlando Sentinel report three new bowls will start in 2020. Mentions independents UMass, New Mexico State and Liberty will have to wait for an at-large bid.
Britt was actually fourth in yards per catch among the Minutemen. Isabella and Dingle averaged 15.7 yards a catch and Palmer averaged 14.8. UMass returns their entire WR corps. Whipple has said UMass will play more three WR sets this year. This is necessitated by the Minutemen returning only five catches for 50 yards by returning TE's Kyle Horn and Travis Reynolds. There was some talk about UMass seeking a transfer TE, but none has materialized so far.
Legalized college football betting is coming and it will change the game. Note that in West Virginia, Marshall and UWV will get a cut of the action. Hard to envision that ever happening in Massachusetts.
