I watched the Toledo-Eastern Michigan game yesterday on the treadmill. The Rockets are grinding their way to the MAC championship game (again) and bowl eligible for the sixth straight year. Toledo gave up a "Hail Mary" TD, but broke up a two-point conversion with no time on the clock to preserve the win.
There was a scary situation when Toledo LB Jeremiah Peters collapsed on the sidelines and was removed from the stadium by ambulance.

The UMass offense ran well. The Minutemen ran for a season high 199 yards and 4.9 yards/carry. If we can keep that up, we've got a chance against Liberty and UConn.
What we didn't do well is pass the ball. Taisun Phommachanh had only 49 yards passing in the first half and a drive ending INT. His longest completion was 13 yards. The longest completion for the whole game was 16 yards. We did not get T.Y. Harding or Jakobie Keeney-James involved in the offense.
The defense played pretty good against a SEC team. UMass had 7 TFL and 3 SACKS. The roughing the passer penalty against Aaron Beckwith was clearly bogus and negated a UMass interception.

Jacksonville State upset Liberty Wednesday 31-21. The Flames are 3-2 in CUSA, the most losses since they joined the league.
Georgia dodged a Gators upset 34-20.
UConn beat Georgia State 34-27 on Thursday. The Huskies are 6-3 and bowl eligible for the second time in three years. UConn should be favored over UAB and UMass. They have a chance to upset Syracuse.

The Bulldogs have a good offense and are going to score. UMass needs offensive production to keep the Mississippi State offense on the sideline and to keep up. The Minutemen can probably throw the ball on the Bulldogs. Some accurate passing from Taisun Phommachanh (like he did against Army last year) could make the game close.
A couple of Mississippi State turnovers to blunt their offense and to give UMass a short field would help.
