UMass Football News--January 10th, 2018

Two former UMass assistant coaches are candidates for offensive coordinator at UConn: Liam Coen and Brian Picucci.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former UMass player and coach Neal Brown has interviewed for the Arizona head coaching position. If Brown gets the job, I wonder if he'd offer the OC position to Whipple.

KGUN has Brown as the possible top candidate for Arizona.

Conner Lemeux has been accepted into the Tufts School of Dentistry.

College football talk predicts 2018 UMass opponent Georgia as #3 in this coming year.

Liam Coen is good enough to be a candidate at UConn but not UMass? Come on Bamford, wake up.Unless of course Whipple is actually the AD at UMass.

If Brown is offered the HC vacancy at Arizona, I'd think he would offer many of his existing staff, including Kenny Edenfield, his OC, unless Edenfield is offered the HC job at Troy if Brown is offered.

That article is off. The bios of Coen and Picucci don't match what they did. Liam has not coached a snap at HC. He was just hired. Picucci was not the OC during 2006 either. He became the OC when Morris was hired. Morris was the OC under Brown. I'd love Liam to come back, but he has only been an OC for two years in one place. After this year at HC, I hope he would still be available if we went in that direction.

Yeah, I'm not gonna trust anything that UCONN does. Need an OC, but why is everyone so fuckin' hot for Coen? I get that he's an alum but jesus.

Just because a sports writer wrote it doesn't mean it's true. Gruden has been floated as a candidate for almost every job for ten years now...
