J.J. Moore lost for the Season
The win over Northeastern was a costly victory for UMass as we lost receiver J.J. Moore RSoph. 6-0 201 for the season with an ankle injury.
Moore was UMass' leading receiver 27-337 yds- 2 TDs. The UMass individual 2005 stats are here .
Moore broke the UMass single-game receiving record this year at Colgate. He went 13-128 yards 1 TD. That broke the previous single game reception record of 11 receptions held by Adrian Zullo (Richmond 1999, Villanova 1999), Jimmy Moore (Hofstra 1998) and Tim Berra (Holy Cross 1973)
J.J. Moore is a great kid who has overcome a great deal in his life. Be sure to read this article by the Springfield Union about him.
Update 10/12/05:
I don't usually do links to the UMass Student Newspaper, but Jeff Howe of the UMass Daily Collegian has a good piece on Moore here
