During the last Grid Iron Club Zoom meeting Coach Brown made the following comments concerning 2022 recruiting:
- UMass recruited 13 true freshmen.
- The Minutemen will add 18 players from the transfer portal
- 2 of the incoming players will grayshirt
- 50% of the incoming players were in for Spring ball
- Another 16 will arrive in Amherst from May to June 1st
- Three offensive linemen will be in the May to June group and that will bring the roster total to 19 OL (which is a far cry from the seven that were available for the 2020 practice I attended).
