UMass Football News--September 9th, 2018

After thinking about it, the defense actually did not play that badly. They did give up that 2:00 minute TD at the end of the half. And we struggled to cover receivers from a option team. The defense did get a four-down stop deep in UMass territory. We also added a turnover at midfield. GSU had one 43-yard run, but most of the time they had to work for yards.

The offense, however, stunk. The first team offense has scored two TD's in two games. The passing game produced 190 yards and 0 TD's. Andrew Ford's longest completion was 19 yards. Comis fumbled the ball on his second (and last) appearance. I didn't like the play calling either. We'd get two first downs in a row and then we'd switch away from what was working. The offense looked out of sync all night. The Minutemen did kick a 42-yard field goal.
