Well, UMass is matched with another BCS team, 2012 Big 12 Champion Kansas State. I've followed the Minutemen to Manhattan, KS twice. Once, UMass was run over by future NFL All-Pro Darren Sproles. During that game, I sat with a bunch of L.A. Love's relatives who had made the trip up from Texas. The second time UMass really made a game of it. We ran the ball effectively and were down by five points with time left in the fourth quarter.
Let's shake off last week, both players and fans. Any BCS team is a big challenge for a MAC team. Last year the MAC's best team NIU, lost to 4-8 Iowa. The Huskies edged Iowa this year. We're literally not playing in our league until MAC play starts.
A win is not likely, but let's give a good effort and get some stuff ready for the league season.
As always, Go UMass!!
