This is a game I've been dreading. Getting beat by a team as bad as New Mexico State would be the final insult in a miserable season. The Minutemen showed some life against Army last week. The defense played their best game of the season against the tough to defend Army option.
Coach Miller and the UMass offensive staff were able to squeeze out enough offense to keep the game competitive. UMass had 277 yards of offense and was able to convert 50% of their 3rd and fourth downs. If the Minutemen can stop turning the ball over, this could be a good game.
I'll be watching and cheering for the Maroon & White. Go UMass!
