Game Day-- Colorado September 6th, 2014

Just checked the weather radar. Most of the thunderstorm activity is still out in Ontario and Quebec. Looks like most of the heavy stuff will go north of Gillette.

Hope to see everyone at the game!

All Gridiron Club members get a e-mail and video clip from Coach Whipple before each game. They also have a tent at Gillette. Stop by and join. Are you sick of all the snark and unfair comments being directed at UMass football and fans? Join the Gridiron Club and help Whip build the team!

A cut-and-paste from the latest e-mail:

Join the Gridiron Club Tailgate Saturday!

After a great turnout last weekend, the Gridiron Club tailgate tent returns to Gillette! All members of the Gridiron Club and football alumni are invited to stop by the Gridiron Club tailgate tent before and after Saturday's game, festivities will begin at 12:00 pm. Please feel free to bring your own beverages and food and participate in a pot-luck style tailgate party. This is great opportunity to mix and mingle with other Gridiron Club members and past UMass Football greats.

Just look for the "Welcome Gridiron Club Members" banner on the 20 x 20 tent in the corner of Lot 5 near the entrance to the Patriots Place Hall of Fame (diagram below).

Gridiron Club board members Cliff Bolden (Class of '01) and Tim Day (Class of '07) are leading the efforts to increase support for UMass Football. Bolden, Day, and other board members have been working diligently to spread the word about supporting the Gridiron Club.

"We had a great turnout last week at the first Gridiron Club tailgate of the season," said Bolden. "We had over 30 people express interest in supporting the Gridiron Club which was very encouraging."

If you have any questions about joining the Gridiron Club or volunteering at a future Gridiron Club event, please contact Bolden, Day or UMass Athletics Development at 413-545-4290. Online donations can also be made at UMassGridironClub.com.

Sept. 20 @ Penn State Tailgate Information
Prior to the game, meet up with UMass Football fans for a pig roast barbecue that is sure to have your mouth watering and spirits soaring. Attendees will enjoy a pig roast, three side dishes, rolls, cookies and brownies, iced tea and two additional drink tickets good for soft drinks, beer or wine (cash bar after tickets are used).  Since our barbecue begins three hours prior to kickoff, there will be plenty of time to feast and then head to campus to cheer on our Minutemen.
