Well I think the Minutemen played credibly. As I said before the game, the Bulldogs had an explosive offense. Get them in space and they'll score. They did the same against Arkansas. UMass needed to score to keep up. Goose eggs in the second and third quarters would not work.
The UMass offense ran well. The Minutemen ran for a season high 199 yards and 4.9 yards/carry. If we can keep that up, we've got a chance against Liberty and UConn.
What we didn't do well is pass the ball. Taisun Phommachanh had only 49 yards passing in the first half and a drive ending INT. His longest completion was 13 yards. The longest completion for the whole game was 16 yards. We did not get T.Y. Harding or Jakobie Keeney-James involved in the offense.
The defense played pretty good against a SEC team. UMass had 7 TFL and 3 SACKS. The roughing the passer penalty against Aaron Beckwith was clearly bogus and negated a UMass interception.
