UMass Football News--November 19th, 2017
UMass defeated BYU in Provo in a defensive gem by the Minutemen defense. Before the game the BYU press was saying the Cougar offensive line was the best unit in the team. BYU had run for over 260 yards the game before against UNLV. The UMass defense held BYU to 42 yards after subtracting sack yardage. The Minutemen defense had seven sacks and eight tackles for loss. The UMass corners played great all game. Everyone flew to the ball. The defensive linemen had three batted balls.
The offense did just enough to win. I think we went into a shell a little too early, but the defense held and we beat a Power Five team for the first time.
Congrats to the team and all the blog readers who stayed positive.
