Slow news day on the intertubes.
Conventional recruiting wisdom is in FBS football, you sign a QB every year. So far, UMass has not added a QB to its commitment list. Nor has any recruiting source mentioned UMass is in the running for another signal caller. Currently UMass is young at the quarterback position and that may impact the Minutemen's recruiting philosophy.
Ross Comis RSFR 6-2 205. In 2015 Comis played in 6 games and went 15-21-171 71.4 % 2 TD's 45 LONG. Unless Whipple brings in a transfer, Comis would be the favorite to start against Florida on September 3rd.
Austin Whipple RSSO 6-1 203. DNP in 2015. In 2014 he went 6-2 GP-GS 25-48-375 52.0% 3TD's 3 INT.
Randall West FR 6-5 220. West did not appear in any game and did not make the traveling squad. He was probably still rehabbing a torn ACL he suffered late in his senior year in high school.
James Soskinski FR 6-6 240. Soskinski DNP in 2015, but did make the traveling squad.
In Spring ball, the starting QB job is probably Comis' to lose. Who is #2 is probably completely open.

James Ihedigbo had a nice pinball INT against the Bears (video included).
